CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner
Matt has been working in the financial planning industry for more than 12 years. Knowing it was what he wanted to do, he started working at Weibler Financial while he was still completing his bachelor's degree in business finance at the University of Idaho.
Matt is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner. In addition, he holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® certification, his insurance license, and FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities registrations with Commonwealth Financial Network® as a registered advisor.
Matt and his wife, Jackie, met at the University of Idaho and were married in 2011. They have two wonderful daughters; Jane and Judy. Matt loves living in Idaho and especially in Lewiston. While he and his wife certainly enjoy traveling, they could not imagine a more perfect place to live and raise a family.
Matt and his family enjoy fishing, camping, hiking, and lots of time spent playing in the backyard. Jackie is an incredible cook and having family dinner together is usually the best part of Matt’s day. Matt also enjoys shooting guns and hunting (especially with his German shorthaired pointer, Walker).
It is Matt's belief that rational thinking, thoughtful planning, and diligent follow-through are the prevailing factors that determine a person’s future circumstance. Virtually any goal can be accomplished with commitment, objectivism, and a positive mental attitude.
The 2019 ranking of the Forbes' Best in State Next-Gen Wealth Advisors list was developed by SHOOK Research and is based on in-person and telephone due-diligence meetings to evaluate each advisor qualitatively and on a ranking algorithm that includes client retention, industry experience, review of compliance records, firm nominations, and quantitative criteria. Overall, approximately 30,000 advisors were considered, and 6,400 (22 percent of candidates) were recognized. This recognition and the due-diligence process conducted are not indicative of the advisor's future performance. Your experience may vary. Winners are organized and ranked by state. Some states may have more advisors than others. You are encouraged to conduct your own research to determine if the advisor is right for you. Portfolio performance is not a criterion due to varying client objectives and a lack of audited data. SHOOK does not receive a fee in exchange for rankings. The full methodology that Forbes developed in partnership with SHOOK Research is available here.
Client Service Manager
Christy joined Weibler Financial & Retirement in March 2017. She handles the administrative duties of the firm, which includes supporting the advisors, maintaining operating efficiency with paperwork and software programs, greeting clients in the office, and preparing materials for upcoming meetings with clients.
Christy has more than 30 years of customer service and more than 20 years of a variety of bookkeeping experience. She worked for her family-owned window covering business in Spokane during her young adulthood, where she first experienced bookkeeping duties and ordering processes and developed her communication skills. She knew at a young age that she wanted to work with people, enjoyed bookkeeping, and was passionate about accuracy and making sure the operations of any business run smoothly and efficiently. She has always kept that philosophy throughout her professional career.
After living in Chicago from 2000 to 2003 for her husband’s job, they found themselves in the Lewiston, Idaho Valley. With three young sons, Christy and her husband, Jeff, wanted to be closer to their extended families. Christy worked in accounting and in accounts payable for several years. But her passion for small locally owned businesses drew her back to where she has found her home with Weibler Financial & Retirement.
Christy and Jeff love the LC Valley and plan on retiring here. She is passionate about helping support her local community and the surrounding small businesses, nonprofits, and schools, which have taken great care in educating and supporting her sons clear through high school.
Christy is currently serving as an ambassador of the Chamber of Commerce, and served on the United Way Education grant panel, and just recently graduated from Leadership LC Valley Program. Christy has taken on additional responsibilities at Weibler Financial, which includes working on key marketing initiatives, planning client events, business development, streamlining different workflows within the office, and handling public relations for the firm.
